SUGAR FREE MAPLE FUDGE

A while back I shared a fabulous fudge recipe. This was a pretty popular recipe with my readers. That recipe featured cocoa powder and was more of a chocolate fudge than a plain fudge. It really was pretty fabulous in my opinion.

While that recipe was more of a chocolate flavored fudge, this one is more of a maple fudge. However, this fudge is pretty good as well. Thus, we do have fudge alternatives and thank goodness for that too!

Sugar Free Maple Fudge Sugar free maple fudge that tastes really good!

Ingredients

Nonfat Dry Milk in powder form- 1 1/3 cups. Tap Water that is one the cool side- 1/2 cup. Sugar Alternative in granular form- 1/2 cup. Butter- 1 cup . Brown Sugar Alternative- You can find a selection of brown sugar alternative choices online. - 2 cups equivalent to regular brown sugar. Maple Extract- 1 1/2 teaspoons. Vanilla Extract- 1/2 teaspoon. Sugar Free Powdered Sugar- You can make your own sugar free powdered sugar using this recipe or find some sugar free powdered sugar online.- 2 cups.

Instructions

In a microwave-safe cup or bowl, mix together your nonfat dry milk and your water. Microwave this on high for one minute- stirring every 15 seconds. Do not allow to boil- if this starts to boil you can quit microwaving sooner than one minute. Add in the granular sugar alternative and stir until you have made a paste.

Cover this and set this aside in the refrigerator and allow to cool- overnight would be best. When ready to make your fudge, prep a square pan for nonstick. I like to use butter foil or parchment to prevent sticking. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine together your butter (cut into tablespoons), the refrigerated mix that your prepared earlier, and the brown sugar alternative. Allow this to come to a boil, stirring constantly.

Cook this for 10 minutes and then remove from the stove. Obviously this will be hot so please take precautions. Add your remaining ingredients and beat on medium speed until smooth (use a handheld mixer for about two minutes). Spread this mix into your prepped pan and allow to cool before cutting into squares. Store covered in an air tight container.

Recipe Notes

This recipe offers alternatives and options. It is also a two part recipe as well. Please see original post for further details.
